Search Lynn Criminal Dockets

Start your Lynn County criminal docket search by figuring out which court took the charge. The county runs four levels. District, county, justice, and municipal courts each keep their own criminal court dockets, so one lookup will not reach them all. A docket entry can show the charges, hearing settings, motions, pleas, and how the case ended, though it will not give you every paper in the court file. If the docket search comes up empty, or you need to confirm a court date, go straight to the clerk who keeps that record. Sealed and restricted cases raise their own access questions.

Lynn Criminal Docket Venue Ladder

Criminal dockets in Lynn County split across several forums. The 106th District Court takes the district felony matters. OCA verification also assigns a criminal caseload to the Lynn County Constitutional County Court. Justice of the Peace Precincts 1 and 4, along with the municipal courts for Tahoka, O’Donnell, and Wilson, handle their own fine-only Class C, traffic, and ordinance cases within their jurisdiction. Federal criminal charges arising in Lynn County go to the Northern District of Texas, Lubbock Division. Those run through PACER, not a Texas county portal.

This ladder guards against one common mistake: reading the JP citation site as a felony index. The venue printed on the ticket, charging paper, or notice is your best routing clue.

Inside a Lynn County Criminal Docket

A criminal docket is a procedural history, not the full evidence file. Fields can change from court to court. They can change from channel to channel too. Lynn County publishes no privacy-safe sample docket. Assume nothing about a local cause-number pattern or abbreviation. Copy the identifier exactly as the notice or clerk gives it. Do not convert it into a format you invented.

Case NumberThe court-assigned identifier used to locate and request the case, such as the exact cause number on the notice.
ChargeThe alleged offense, level, and sometimes the cited law or charging instrument.
Bond and PleaRelease conditions or forfeiture events, plus the defendant’s recorded plea when public.
Hearing SettingsArraignment, pretrial, plea, trial, sentencing, or later review dates.
DispositionDismissal, conviction, judgment, sentence, supervision, appeal, or another closing event.

A missing PDF does not mean the filing never occurred. The portal may list the event itself while holding back a protected or purchasable document.

Lynn Citation Search Is Separate

The JP Precinct 1 Tyler service exists for citations and payments. Its search modes include citation number with date of birth. Driver license and state with date of birth is another option. SSN with date of birth, vehicle plate and state, and name with date of birth round out the list. Business name works too. The Tahoka municipal service offers similar citation, license, vehicle, and name routes. Handy as those identity fields are, neither tool is a general criminal docket database. Treat them as citation lookup services, nothing more. For a true court docket, go to the court itself.

Use only the least sensitive official route needed. Never enter another person’s SSN, date of birth, or driver-license details merely to test a portal. If a citation is missing, JP Precinct 1 directs the cited person to call 806-561-4337.

The payment screen may offer deferred disposition or a driving-safety-course option. The portal warns that paying when an option is unavailable can finalize the case as a conviction. Ask the issuing court about eligibility first.

How a Criminal Case Moves

A Lynn County criminal docket can open several ways. A complaint, a citation, or an arrest event can start it. A district felony matter may then show a complaint, bond, an indictment or other charging entry, arraignment, discovery-related activity, motions, and settings. An indictment is simply a grand-jury charging instrument. An arraignment is the formal appearance where the charge and process are addressed. County and lower-court labels can differ from district terms. Read every docket entry in the context of its own court.

Docket flow: Filing › Arraignment › Pretrial › Plea or Trial › Disposition › Sentencing

Later entries may reflect supervision, an appeal, a warrant or capias, or bond action. A setting is only a scheduled event. It proves no trial occurred, and a reset never dismisses the charge.

Lynn Criminal Clerk Fallback

For district criminal records, contact the Lynn County District Clerk at 806-561-4274. The office sits at 1501 South 1st Street in Tahoka. Mail goes to PO Box 939. OCA identifies Local Government Solutions as the county’s case-management system. But the county posts no public countywide LGS viewer. Ask whether you can inspect the docket. Ask whether a given document is public, and what copy fee applies. Call before you drive over.

For a county-level criminal matter, check with the County Clerk and the county court coordinator. Either can confirm which office holds the record. Justice and municipal cases stay with their issuing courts. The County Clerk expressly documents public viewing stations and record books for the records that office maintains. The county publishes no equivalent district-file terminal rules. Check by phone before visiting.

Note: The County Clerk public-record form is not a criminal-history search request. That office states it does not perform searches.

Courts That Hold Criminal Dockets

Let the newest official paper pick your search path. The 106th District Court serves Lynn along with Dawson, Gaines, and Garza counties, but the Lynn District Clerk maintains the Lynn district filings. OCA verifies criminal jurisdiction for the Constitutional County Court. Its coordinator can route a setting question, while the County Clerk handles the county records it maintains.

The official justice-court page lists Precincts 1 and 4 with their local payment and form links. Tahoka, O’Donnell, and Wilson municipal courts keep the city matters. New Home is incorporated, yet it does not appear in the OCA municipal-court directory. That absence is not proof that no forum exists. Confirm venue with the city or the relevant JP before concluding a docket is unavailable.

Lynn Criminal Dockets and PACER

Federal charges tied to Lynn County never appear on the 106th District Court docket. The county clerk systems will not hold them either. The reason is jurisdiction. Lynn sits inside the Northern District of Texas, Lubbock Division. That court keeps its own records. Its docket search runs through PACER. Once you open a PACER account, you can search by party name, case number, or date. The federal docket report lists each entry. You can open available documents separately, though PACER's current fees apply. A matching charge description does not move a federal case into the Lynn County criminal docket. Cannot tell which federal division holds the file? PACER Case Locator will point you to the right court. For a setting, a filing, or a certified federal record, the federal clerk has the final word. The Texas clerks speak only for their state cases.

Lynn Criminal Docket Totals

OCA's cumulative district report runs from September 1, 2010 through January 31, 2025. The Lynn criminal row opens with 36 pending cases. It then adds 893 filings. Dispositions total 784, one case went inactive, and 152 remained pending at the end. These are report columns over a long span. They are not a list of current defendants, not a 2024 annual count, and not proof that any particular case is still open.

893criminal cases added in the stated cumulative period
784disposed in that report period
152ending pending in the report row

That is why an aggregate activity report cannot settle a case-status question. For one person's matter, rely on the docket held by the clerk.

Sealed Dockets and Public Access

Many adult criminal docket entries are public. Online access is not the same as legal access. Juvenile files, sealed records, protected identifiers, victim information, and material restricted by a court order may all be withheld. Expunction or nondisclosure can change what a search reveals. A blank result, then, does not prove that no case ever existed.

Key Rules:

Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12 establishes a request framework for judicial records and recognizes custodians and access limits.

Texas Family Code §58.003 governs sealing for qualifying juvenile records.

Texas court rules on sensitive data support redaction and restricted handling of personal identifiers in filings.

Unsure what you may see? Ask the clerk for the available docket or index. Pressing for protected content is the wrong move, and questions about expunction eligibility or access rights may call for a Texas attorney.
